Guided by its Environmental Policy, the group is driving the energy transition. It is working as a reliable partner with local communities and partners across the Greater Region to support the long-term, coordinated transformation of the energy system.
Enabling decarbonisation and system resilience
The Encevo Group acknowledges that climate change is a defining challenge for the energy system. The group is actively committed to enabling decarbonisation and contributing to climate neutrality, in line with European climate objectives. Environmental responsibility is embedded in the group’s strategy, investment decisions and day-to-day operations.
-
Acting on climate change
The group implements concrete measures to reduce CO₂ and other greenhouse gas emissions by increasing renewable energy production, improving energy efficiency, and supporting the integration of low-carbon and decarbonised gases across the energy system.
-
Efficient use of resources
The group works to reduce overall energy consumption, optimise processes and assets and limit the use of natural resources, contributing to lower emissions and a more efficient and sustainable energy system.
-
Enabling the energy transition for customers
The group supports customers in actively participating in the energy transition by offering renewable energy products, decentralised installations and technical services. These solutions enable lower emissions, more efficient energy use and greater system flexibility.
Monitoring progress and performance
Progress is monitored using specific indicators, including Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions. A complete overview of all indicators can be found in the sustainability statement of the Annual Report.

Hydrogen as a lever for decarbonisation
In this context, the Encevo Group has joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance . The Alliance supports the development of hydrogen as a key lever for achieving decarbonisation and climate neutrality, thereby helping the European Union’s to reach its objective of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. By participating, the group is underlining its commitment to a sustainable energy transition and to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while contributing to the development of future hydrogen value chains at a European level.
Encevo is also a founding member of the Grande Region Hydrogen , which aims to develop and support a hydrogen ecosystem in the region of Saarland, Lorraine and Luxembourg.
